Building new

March 11, 2011

So I begin the history class by showing the Brooklyn Bridge, Eiffel Tower and Galleria Emmanuel and stressing that at the turn of the 19th century the structural gymnastics that these works portrayed must have been mind blowing to the common man.  Now we are beginning to see in this, still new century, that result of new technology affecting the aesthetics of architectural work.  This work of Micheal Hansmeyer is case and point.  These columns are proposals for a new ordering system using algorithms to manipulate form….. The look of this work blows my mind…whats the next architectural result?
