winged power

April 28, 2011

American Federalist wing chair from Thomas Schwenke, Inc.

After dodging tornadic energy all yesterday and having power restored after 10 hours-the power of shelter comes to mind. The wing chair in particular has held a functionalist role in decorative arts-the wings are to shield you face from the fire while conversing-recently I saw that a hipster designer noted that the resurgence of the porter chair or wing chair in hospitality work is because of the privacy required with cell phones….function always wins.
