building elegant

July 7, 2011

We are getting settled for a summer in Maine. On our way up we had a delightful break at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest. I was impressed with the docent’s description of the Construction of the building, never before have I had such an interesting account of how the building is made.

I always learn something about the building process, as in the emotional process of building, from visiting a Jefferson building. This time the illuminating fact that it took 15,000 letters between Jefferson and on site foreman’s to build the building blew my mind, the intensity.

Other than that, I have an odd impulse to paint something celery green……..

Posting will be intermittent but will get more regular as the summer wears on.
