wall building

August 19, 2011

from Tami Wedekind

Shoko Nomura’s work weaves layers of washi (Japanese paper) to create what she calls “blank spaces”. In traditional Japanese scrolls the “blank” areas share equal importance with the “ink” areas. She prides herself in carrying on Japanese culture in her work.  I think this is a dreamy  poetic wall of light.
