building rhythm

November 30, 2011

From Tami Wedekind

Deborah Valoma’s work explores the historical narrative of craft while engaging 21st century technology. In her piece “Longing” dancers interact with each other, the strings, and the space.  I love the rhythmic sounds of the loom operating in the background. “Longing” was installed, performed, and filmed in July 2011 at the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR.
