building framework

January 26, 2012

From Tami Wedekind

Wlodzimierz Cygan   is a renowned weaver in Lodz, Poland.  He constructs frames that allow him to use his warp freely.  The warp is usually the parallel and flat framework that the weft covers orthogonally.  His warp can stretch in any direction, creating wandering crevices or holes; his weft follows in complex circles.  He calls it “architecture of textiles”.
