building art

February 9, 2012

I am teaching detailing this semester and its such a wonderful way to like architecture again for me.  This week I will go through a number of buildings that really speak to me through how they are put together and the stories behind them.  First up Steven Holl’s  Turbulence House. A beautiful guest house for Richard Tuttle and his wife Mei Mei Berssenbrugge.  The house evidently was not what the clients wanted or so they say in print now.  My feeling is how did it get built if you guys were not paying attention?  Architecture being designed and built is hard to ignore.
