Our visit to MASSMOCA last weekend was so impressive. I have stopped in about every few years since its inception and each time you see another level of artistic polish and rigor in the galleries.
The O’ Canada exhibition was case in point. Where I wish it had been an O’ Brooklyn or O’ New England show the level of craft and conceptual work was very impressive.
I really enjoyed a very brave way of incorporating the decorative arts in the work. Media like porcelain, felt, flocked wall paper are all boldly worked.
Less interesting individually was the need to miniaturize all banal aspects of Canadian thinking.
