building color

October 3, 2012

From Tami

If you are in London and haven’t O. D. ‘d on design.
I would hop a train to Gloucester for the One Day Symposium on The Architecture of Cloth, Colour & Space.  All speakers look intriguing.  One panelist is Sophie Smallhorn. Her  work for the facade   of a private home in Basel Switzerland is pictured.  Photo courtesy her web site.  I’m attracted to her ability to build color into form.  Another brilliant colorist and weaver, Margo Selby, will be there as well.  Gotta love the double cloth structure for depth and crisp geometries.
