building project

October 25, 2012

I am back from a very wonderful trip to Washington to tour the newly restored rooms of Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial. The rooms are freshly painted and I toured the house with the very bright National Parks Service Ranger Dean Bryson and listened to dense amounts of information regarding the antebellum life of the house, the role of the house in the Civil War and its beginnings as the military cemetery that we all know now.  I tried an experiment of “tweeting Live” my visit. I so enjoyed sharing the tour, and promise in the future to proof my tweets pre-send. I was so taken with the quiet sweet quality of the Victorian blue, pink and yellow tints that cover the walls and wonder if the story of the house can be told through the designation of the colors throughout the architecture. Stay tuned for more insight.
