library building for all

December 10, 2012

Tami suggested that I collect all books suggestions from this year and pass them along in case you need some gifts for the ones who love books. First up was the Deborah Scheiderman’s Inside Prefab, The Ready-Made Interior, it just keeps unfolding with wonderful projects to learn from. Next was the delightful and dense Works by Matali Crasset.  Then we read the Founding Gardens by Andrea Wolf. One of my favorite reads was The Hare with the Amber Eyes written by the amazing ceramicist Edmund De Waal. I loved the tone and delight of Lucy Worsley’s If Walls Could talk; an Intimate History of the Home.  More gardening writing with the lovely and inspiring and classic Onward and Upward in the Garden by Katherine White. From the garden into the kitchen with the super hip Edible Selby.  And finally Pamela Parmel’s Woman’s Work. Tomorrow I will have about six more titles and the image above is an Irma Boom book project, always a favorite.
