blum and poe texture

Popped in to the Blum and Poe gallery today and found these beautiful walls of texture via Hugh Scott-Douglas’s exhibit “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”

“…[I] often draw from filmic examples, not so much for pictorial content of a film, but for the mechanics of the picture.”

This could be an architectural thesis project. Drawing on the 2-d “frame” of the 3-d film to create new planes in a actual 3-d space…I wonder what kind of an architecture school would let you explore that…
