Yu Cotton-well Kazu Tabu 2013-03-14

From Tami

Last weekend I attended the opening of “When the Sun Becomes a Memory” at SPACE Gallery. My weaving friend Yu Cotton-well and her husband Kazu Tabu put their talents together to create a beautiful show. Inspired by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 in their native Japan -both works illustrated our relationship with the man-made vs.spiritual world and reality vs.memory.

A lovely way to mark the anniversary of the tragedy –

10% of the proceeds will be donated to Japan’s rebuilding efforts.  Through April 19, 2013

Pictured is Kazu Tabu’s “View From Where We Used to Be a.k.a Gokuraku-Jodo”
And Yu’s installation in the window.
