a new look

morning room 1

This past winter I have been researching the lovely Arlington House once occupied by Robert E. Lee. I am not sure what will become of the research but its been a delight to witness a before and after story for the house. In October I visited one day before the furniture arrived from storage after five years. There was a powerful quality to the architecture, color and quality of light that you witnessed with the house empty. On Monday during my second visit an elegant curation had taken place and was on going. The house felt animated and energized by the contents, as if the family had returned. If you are in the D.C. area note that a re-dedication ceremony will take place this weekend to welcome the house into its next phase of history.
