The Cloth & Memory exhibit being held at UNESCO World Heritage Site: Salts Mill, Saltaire Yorkshire UK.  23 artists responded to the original Spinning room, which when first built was thought to be the largest industrial room in the world.

Although all the pieces are intriguing, Maxine Bristow’s piece (photo via Cate) feels most “Chairs & Buildings” – esque. Her piece plays with scale and memory of domestic objects, creating spaces in her sculptural riffing.

As Cate says the impressive show has “…a significant role to play in the critical debates of the still contested field of textile art.”

If you are across the pond…go, go, go!
