I’m still mining the Cloth and Memory show, for new textile objects with familiar narratives.  Hilary Bowers piece for the show ( ‘Of Human Signage’ on left) and Maxine Bristow’s sacks [3×19 : Intersecting Seam 1999] (not in show – but she is included in the show) recall the sacks utility uses for industrial production or a sleeping bag – their tactile-ness…begs to be touched and used??  But how…or is it just art – and we’ll look…But the language of textiles is touch and wrap…
