a Judd Building
I have been waiting to write about my recent visit to the Judd Foundation this week after I thought about the trip a bit. It’s so nice to see the building thriving again, beautiful renovation of the cast iron facade, solid and historic collection of art. I had to figure out how I felt about being in a temple of conceptual and aesthetic concerns. Judd’s minimalism has become aligned with the high finish, high polish frame of interior design and I was VERY surprised to see the way he lived; pretty standard issue 1970’s downtown space, just like your college friend’s dad’s loft. The art display is lovely, but personnel and approachable, not top dollar investments. On the whole, it is a human place, where the story of a family evolved.
