As I was walking down Union Street at the Gowanus I spied this wonderful piece by one of my favorite artists. I first saw the work of Anne Delleport in New Orleans at Prospect 1. She did two works there, one in 3rd Ward and one in the Mint building. Where I loved the opportunity of the piece in the abandoned house on the 3rd Ward the work in the Mint was more memorable. Her process of editing to bring images forward made the room like an overall Giotto Chapel, even tweeking the indigo blue to bring it to modern times. This work at the Canal is lovely, a long plywood construction fence displays Delleport’s rigorous random and gives you friendly benches to view the piece. Make sure you stop and spend time with the wall.
