I stumbled upon the mesmerizing work of Isle of Skye artist, Caroline Dear via the soft filtered world of Abigail Doan’s blog. Dear’s project Coat of Cupar investigates the immersive potential of symbol and myth. The material that she crafted the coat out of is the bog material from the Cupar Muir were a pinnacle 1559 Scottish battle against the French occurred. The coat was worn by town’s people on everyday rounds and the deep thread of ancient narratives prevailed.
